Education

Jack has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Utah Valley University and has taught at Fusion Academy Columbia for many years. He has also served as the Humanities Department Head and as the Yearbook Advisor prior to his current role.

Experience

Before teaching, he worked in jewelry retail for over seven years, with three of those years in a management position with both Fred Meyer Jewelers and Zales. As a passion project, he was the co-founder and co-editor of a queer literary journal entitled peculiar, which published 9 issues from 2015 - 2022.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • He is also a writer of poetry and creative nonfiction, having been published in various journals and anthologies.
  • He was once the director of a pride festival in Provo, Utah, of all places—for three years running!
  • When he’s not working, he enjoys hanging with friends, playing with his dog, and learning to cook.
