Education
Tucker graduated from the University of New England with a double major in Marine Biology and Environmental Science. He then went on to get his Masters in Marine Biology from the College of Charleston. Finally, he completed his PhD in Drug Discovery and Biomedical Science from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Experience
Tucker has taught a speciality HS course in coastal marine ecology, intro biology at the college level, and was a graduate assistant for a variety of graduate level courses. Tucker also have extensive lab experience ranging from population genetics to ecological behavior. On the biomedical side, Tucker has worked with various model organisms to explore questions in immunology and mitochondrial diseases.
Fun Facts and Hobbies
- Gaming fanatic (board, card, video, etc)!!
- Loves to learn new things about the natural world to feed his "Sense of Wonder".
- Enjoys outdoor activities (soccer, climbing, hiking) and spending time with his family.
