LaTasha received her Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies from Florida State University, her Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from American Intercontinental University; and she is finishing her Doctor of Education studies in Transformative School Leadership with the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University.
Experience
LaTasha Golden is a justice-oriented educator who believes in the power of voice and identity as core levers for change and transformation in education.
LaTasha has 15 years of experience in program design and youth development with non-profit organizations and school districts across the country. LaTasha began her journey as an afterschool performing arts teacher in her hometown of Miami, Florida. Since then, she served as a program coordinator and program Manager for Playworks Southern California, and program director for City Year New York. LaTasha leveraged her passion for youth development and out-of-school program design as the National Afterschool Specialist for City Year Headquarters. And most recently, LaTasha captured the authentic experience of students as the Senior Director of Student Experience for City Year to identify areas of opportunity to bridge research practice, using evidence-based practice to develop a nationally-aligned vision for the student experience.
Fun Facts and Hobbies
- Is the National President of her sorority Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.
- Enjoys traveling, going to the beach, and having family fun nights, including popcorn, movies, and music with her husband and two boys.
