(Raleigh, N.C. – August 12, 2022) The News & Observer recently asked its readers about the best private schools, and readers nominated Fusion Academy Raleigh.
“Humbled, flattered and equally thrilled don’t sum up how we feel,” said Fusion Academy Raleigh Director of Outreach Amanda Woolard. “We are a part of an impressive community of private and public schools in Raleigh and glad to be recognized by readers.”
Fusion Academy provides individualized education to students in grades 6 through 12. Fusion Academy Raleigh opened in late January of 2020, less than two months before the pandemic and its subsequent school and business closures. Fusion Academy Raleigh is the education provider’s 57th campus in the country and its second in North Carolina. Fusion Academy Charlotte opened the preceding fall.
Fusion Academy Raleigh is one of 32 private schools nominated under the Education category. The News & Observer sponsors the annual ranking of Raleigh’s Best. Readers nominate and then vote for their favorite businesses and organizations in the following categories: Eat & Drink, Education, Financial, Health & Beauty, Home & Garden, Law, Motors, Real Estate, services, Shopping and Things to do. Voting ends August 19.
“This nomination makes our hearts sing.” said Fusion Academy Head of School Lauren Haas. “We have been welcomed by so many families who embrace our one student to one teacher learning model and truly appreciate its power on student’s social, emotional and academic success.”
Fusion’s personalized learning means every class is one to one – one student to one teacher, and different teachers for each class. Fusion teachers personalize instruction for student strengths, interests, and learning preferences. Schedules are also customized so students take classes at a time of day that works best for them.
Fusion Academy Raleigh is intentionally small which creates an environment that balances the academic and social and emotional health of students. Campuses are packed with engaging learning and social spaces. Students also utilize a state-of-the-art recording studio with professional-grade equipment, mixed-media art studio, science lab, two Homework Café® spaces and much more.
Athletes, actors, and students with extracurricular passions can schedule school around their life instead of the other way around. Other students who attend Fusion include gifted or accelerated students, students with mild learning differences, or anyone looking for a more personalized learning environment.
